This song, kicks me in the nads, every time I listen to it.
It seems to me, that Howard is talking about how humanity has this kind of self-preservation instinct, which hsa been sharpened to the point that we now act completely in our own best interests, and that this is basically the reason we are fucked as a species, and that the only way out is to take a look at each other, to "breath life" and experiance each other, anew.
