Ok, this song (to me) is talking about using the time we have to make a difference.
The fact is, no one knows when they will die, and we alone have the choice, we can sit on ass and do nothing, or we can make a differance to the world we live in, either way, we will die at some point.
It seems to me that Howard has a very different view on shit, to Jesse, Jesse was a Christian, and believed that we alone can't save ourself, no matter how good we are, where as I get the impression that Howard feels we will be judged by our actions, not our faith.
I respect this, I think its cool that Howard has written shit as he sees it and not tried to fake Jesses style, that would have shown through straight away.
I may be wrong about the meaning, but regardless, The end of heartache Kicks untold amounts of ass...
