well i see theres a little argument over the story. heres an excerpt taken from an interview with Thomas. "Sunset on 32nd was written about my neighbor ,who was bringing home groceries for his wife and children on the handlebars of his bicycle, when a racial profiling police dragnet chased him into his home and beat him before the arrest, brandishing guns in front of his wife and infant daughter, and breaking the door of their apartment. They took him to the hospital in order to have him cleaned up before they released him from the station, and later, the whole family was forced to move North into public housing because their landlord evicted them due to the broken door. Me and my wife watched the family disintegrate and separate, weighted as they become by poverty and injury, and violated by our racist legal and economic system. We tried our best to help them financially with our small salaries as artists and warehouse workers, and even Jade Tree gave me an advance on my royalty to aid them. None of this mattered to our grief and frustration, as the ghetto ate their hope and cohesion, separating the Mother and Father, and eventually separating the two young sisters, sending them into foster care. That's actually still sort of hard to write or talk about. "

That's so harsh. It's fucked up how some police become police so they can get away with shit like this.
