To me this song is about his relationship with Charlize Theron and how he got caught up in the Hollywood dazzle which is the world that she clearly thrived in. Every so often he realised that he wasn't being true to himself and the life he was living was artificial and fake but his love for her was so great that he didn't really want to believe that.
