it saddens me to see that i am the only one to comment on any of Jeremy Enigk's solo album stuff... to me, Jeremy Enigk is God... this song only confirms it...
as a child i was told when it rains... it is God crying, when it thunders, God has gotten a strike bowling...
"and every time you cry i'll cry for you
then allthese fields will turn into mud"
in reality... a christian would say... yes, this song is about God, and we all kno the break up of the Emo. God Fathers, Sunny Day Real Estate was because Dan and Jeremy did not see I 2 I on Jeremy's idea to put his new found love for christ into his lyrics during SDRE's short reign over the music world, they still have that throne in my book... but anyway, back to the meaning of the song, its simply put, and very easy to see... the song is about God... what more is there?
