sounds like someone has some serious issues they need to work out. why the irateness?
I find this song to be really sad...because it's the song of someone who is so bitter that they've knowingly blinded themself. And I know people like that.
These lyrics have a sick and awful irony to them. After going on and on about how wretched an miserable this world is, longing for a God who will DO something to "make it better down here", an inadvertant paradox arises...
"No saints, no sinners, no devil as well. No pearly gates, no thorny crown."
If there are no sinners and no devil, then WHY is the world as screwed up as it is? The song blames God. But "no thorny crown"? Right...yeeeah. God loves us so much that He subjected Himself to the world's cruelty and shed His blood, enduring the ultimate pain and humiliation so that anyone on this screwed up world who would only love Him back could have everlasting life. He LOVES us, the song even makes a REFERENCE to it.
