is showing how much this has taken him over and how he only feels good when he's high, but its just the drugs and not a real feeling so it'll fade away and he is gettting closer and closer to dying and he knows it and he is a loser who cant fight against his own addiction......at least that is how I interprit the actual lyrics...the sound of the song to me reminds me of a relationship that you are fully dependent on and you'll die if you lose it......later
i totally agree but i take it a step further i think its also about recovery and as strange as it sounds the line addiction needs a pacifier makes me think of methadone ,its like he know its poison and he doesnt want it but he hopes to find someone someday to fill its place but until then he has to pacify the addiction and he needs the methadone
