this song, to me, reminds me of a post-coital buzz. kind of like the feels of coming back passionate sex. i felt like somewhat of a pervert because of my interpretation but i think the 'waves' in the song could be tremors of pleasuriable sensations. ("rocket's rain is keeping you wet" ??) also, the french name for an orgasim is called 'el petit mort' which means 'the small death', a name used to describe the monumental feelings of relief when reaching climax so maybe "deathbed" is used to describe the place where the lovers rest after their encounter.
