While browsing for reviews and such, I found that the majority of people hate this song. I thought that maybe I too would hate this song so I listened to it multiple times. Instead of cultivating a hatred, I found that I liked this song. Then I decided to read into it and that that would be pertinent to a lyrics analysis page such as this. As a student of the U of Minnesota and an avid fan and participator of the hockey riots, it didn't take me long to empathize with this song. Stephan's bee-yatch is obsessed with a girl that is into getting into danger; wether it is gettting into riots or getting her ass banged. While this song is predicated upon the fact of attending riots and ultimately facing danger, the girl of this tune ends up "losing her taste for danger." Like the line in Pulp Fiction, when his woman loses her taste for danger so does the narrrator as indicated in the repeated line of "I used to be a dissident citizen." When all is said and done, the relationship loses its potency when the flair for danger dissapears.
