to me this song is describes a type of relationship that everyone has at some point in life. all you ever wanted to gain from the relationship was a sense that the feeling of concern for the person is mutual, but you are always aware that it isn't. also, as much as we complain about them, in the end something in them still attracts to be their friend or lover. and what hurts most in the end is knowing that you've been lying to yourself, and ultimatley you've got know one to blame but yourself.
