i think this song is about how the statue of liberty stands for a lot of thing, liberty, freedom and so on. none of these are reflected by the land it's in so why do we have it? another thing it might mean is how people are so proud of it but why? can't people see that it means nothing? every nation has it's bad and good people, the statue of liberty kind of shows good intentions i guess but why do you need a statue to see that?
