Since the writers of More Than Words are purportedly "Christians", I doubt the song was written about a sexual conquest - although, that interpretation is certainly justifiable :)
To me, the Lover is simply telling the Beloved, "Actions Speak Louder Than Words!!!"
In my personal experience (I'm almost 40), if the relationship has gotten to the point where there is THAT much doubt, it's time to MOVE ON and not cross your fingers and hope the object of your affection will suddenly turn into a good catch.
So, although I LOVE the music and even learned how to play in on the guitar when it came out, the words (and unfortunately this is the case for most Extreme songs AND love songs in general) are whiney and pathetic crys from people who are afraid to end relationships for fear of being alone.
