It's about Josh realizing that all this hatred, all these prejedices that are within him are just destructive and do not do him any good, he realizes that "every dog has his day" and that you can judge a person by the cover/by meeting him/her once. For a long time he "saw only wrong" but now gets that "it's a waste of time". "Stones are easy to throw" means that it's easy to point a finger at someone/dislike someone but harder to try and figure that person out, understand why he/she is acting the way he/she does.
