I pretty much agree with Madcappunk on the idea of nonconformity. It sounds to me, not abuse by parental figures, but abuse from the world. Like he is always beat down emotionally. He dosnt fit in ( as some of his songs suggest ). Basically he's talking about how sometimes the whole world seems against him. As he feels he fights alone with his awesome honesty and that heart on his sleeve. Like he is told to follow the herd... no deviation... no true individualism. He escapes this life by not conforming to society. And to him its like a hard physical beating. He will break out on his own and be proud, and deep down find a happiness inside that nothing... nothing and no one can take from him.
