:::the following is based on how i once felt and could relate to it:::

“You can run from the sorrow and all that you lose, is the chance to make peace with the path that you choose.” This line states that running away from your depression is just making it worse. How the only way to even start to overcome it is to realize that it’s there, and that it has to be dealt with. It also seems to be hinting that everyone is sad (not depressed, but sad) to an extent, but just act happy, which slowly crumbles them more and more.

“Little apple, I'm sure, is as small as you think, bitter reminder the drown is in the drink.” This line, through sketchy, can pretty much be interpreted into the idea of your depression being as small as you think it is, and it only seems larger because you refuse to cope with it.

“I admit, I regret, that I'm needing you.” He seems to not want to admit that he needs someone to help him out of his depression, because he’s too deep in it to pull himself out. “I'm depressed, you're the mess, that I looked up to.” He’s seems to, at this point, start to realize that the person he looked up to for help out of depression is more of a mess than himself.

…Therefore he feels as though he should take back every time he asked for help… “I retract every word that I say.” He then states “I swear, I'll never treat others that way.” By stating that, he shows that this person obviously did little to help them out of the depression, despite whatever efforts they may have tried.

“Maybe this isn't anything like it should be” seems to be when he realizes that he shouldn’t be looking to others for help. “You'd be humble and famous, it falls perfectly.” He notices that if he gets better, that this person would believe it was because of them, when it wasn’t.

“I have made some decisions, choices you make, then I see, to my error, I've made a mistake.” This seems to be when he realizes that what he was doing to ‘help himself’ is really what the other person told him to do to make things better, which really didn’t help him.

“Don't open your mouth, don't worry about it.” Seems to be him stating that either he doesn’t want to talk to the person anymore, or that he doesn’t want them to feel as though they have to help him anymore, or apologize.

“If I was in your place I'd never allow it.” States how he feels about this person, how he finally realizes that he shouldn’t have looked up to them because they don’t help.
