Most people have felt this way at one time or another.. on either side as well.. you either try to help someone and they push you away.. or someone tries to help you and you push them away..

To me this means that cliche saying "you're my light through the darkness" which isnt so bad of a saying when you get right down to it..
I've loved NIN since day one, but I definately think that Trent was a hitting his peak artistic moment when writing this piece :)
