This song to me has a different meaning… the way I see it is that someone just found out they were deceived in a big way by a spouse, lover, partner, parent, etc… and you are barely coming to grips with it ad you don’t know what to do:
Who's got my back now?
When all we have left is deceptive
So disconnected
So what is the truth now?
And now they’re finding out that all that they had, all that they lost can be “re-created”:
There's still time
All that has been devastated
Can be recreated
Realize
We pick up the broken pieces
Of our lives
Giving ourselves to each other...ourselves to each other
To rest our head on
I dunno… that’s my take on it. That’s how it speaks to me
It does mean that if you're thinking in the future. And re-creation would only happen for whatever survives from the "deceptive" and "disconnected" destruction of what was know as the truth.
