first of all, this is an amazingly haunting song...the sound is a metaphor, in itself...it wavers back and forth between echoed, melancholic nostalgia and a full, rich present...the lyrics correspond with this...guy talking about a loved one who's seriously screwed up their life in the past...emotional wreckage..."ghosts eternally lost inside"...that's the melancholic nostalgia part...moving on, the guy says he doesn't care about that past..."it's nothing"...and whoever he's talking about is all-important...she/he is the only thing he needs...the past is nothing...the present everything..."this right here is all i want"...that's the full present...the music embodies the lyrics and vice versa...i love it...
