Roe also wanted to write a song that expressed his religious views, utilizing the metaphor of a broken down Midwestern town, a run down house and lost dreams.

"theres so many different things in that song its hard to sum up, " he admits of "all you can ever learn you already know." "I was (wondering) how in this world where you have all these countries in the middle east fighting over religion, and all the problems with catholic priests and what not, it must be so hard for so many people to look past all this and really try to find faith in God or something.

The chorus of the song says, 'I'm trying to believe in you.' I'm saying this to god; I'm trying my hardest to have faith despite all this ugliness in the world.
