this is one of NOFX's deepest songs. Its good because it touches on things that a lot of other people dont want to write about because they are controvercial/offending. I also like how the first part parallels the second part. I think that Mike just stated the obvious, but it is something that may people do not realize. By paralleling the verses, its easier for people to understand the second part. He is not attacking Christianity, he is simply pointing out one of its flaws - hypocrisy. Everyone needs something to draw faith from, however, many people overlook some of the messages of Christianity simply because it is pressured upon them, or they do not know everything that they are supposedly "believing" in. With our fearless Republican leader now pressuring Christianity on the masses as the correct moral belief, many Americans are swept into somthing that they see as right, but do not fully understand. Anyway, I'll try not to mix up personal feelings with this. One of the reasons Christianity can be labeled hypocritical is its preaching that once one truly has faith in the religion, their sins will be repent. This, however, creates the illusion that it is alright to do whatever one pleases, and a little praying will fix everything. Logically, it doesnt add up. Yea, so like Mike said, I also believe in the human race, not in something I would consider a blind faith. A Walk to Remember is one of the best movies ive seen in a long time. ~~
