actually i was thinking about this song again, and it might not be about alcohol. i'm still pushing towards the drugs theory, unless the drugs are a metaphor for the alcohol. because lines like "and i shake as i take it in" sound much more druglike than alcohol like .. i mean it's probably about alcohol.. but i'm not gonna leap to that conclusion. also i agree wiht bean boy

But that's what i thought when i first heard it, then it clicked "the house JACK built, and Jame's drink of choice is Jack Daniels." Also i feel the part about shaking, is his concious knowing he is just digging himself deeper with every drink, but that's me. . .
