Even though Michelob should have known that the Guster boys are Jewish, he may be partially right. I know that they sometimes purposely make some of their songs seem to be Christian just because they are Jewish. Maybe the song is about some random person who sacrificed himself for the good of others; if so, they could have worded it the way they did in order to show that they feel Jesus's acts were no different than any other man's acts. That's just a crazy guess though.
