Damn this song is awesome. "I'm letting Ophelia die" is such a rad line.

The song is obviously inspired by Hamlet. I have a feeling that, if this song can actually be interpreted and isn't just something that David Usher thought sounded neat, that perhaps the song is from the perspective of Gertrude, who watches Ophelia drown herself. Or perhaps the chorus is from Ophelia's perspective, making reference to the fact that the play [well, at least at the time Ophelia dies] is set in winter.
