This is a beautiful song, why has no-one commented on this yet!? It's just talking about death, and whether this is 'the end'. I think this song is saying we all feel suicidal sometimes, life is depressing you can't argue with that, and Tim is struggling to decide whether death actually gives you the release you are after "will you finally be free? Do you find contentment, do you find your peace?". Maybe he is contemplating suicide and this song is an argument as to whether killing yourself will acheive the finality of what you actually want, or whether you will just make things worse.
