I agree with what your saying, it also seems as though "I leave pieces of paper Pieces of myself along the way" he's not satisfied with the way that life is working out. He's tired of repitition and not getting where or what he wanted out of life. "And you take everything so seriously
Then you leave and burn up on re-entry". To me, that's saying that he has no down time to be normal and relax, and then when he's acused of being so serious it frustrates him and the only thing to do is walk away and then "burn up" or get pissed off at life. That would explain the dissatisfaction with life...
