Truly an incredible song, and my all time favorite, of all music I've listened to. It possess a timelessness that allows it to hold that designation, forever. It has an incredible drive, and an amazing climax, and an intriguing message, one that will force you to examine the life you're leading, and the influences you're pulled down by. I think it refers to rivers of said influence that can pull you in, away from the shoreline that's mentioned. Or maybe there's an alltogether different, more deep meaning to it.

Few notes, "Silhouette against the stone", not storm, and "He just disappears beneath the fears he's carried", not "It just...".

By far, the Collective CD's version of this song is far superior to the already amazing original- tighter, higher range (as if that's possible) and more dynamic vocals, more interesting and driving drumming and especially fills, and a slightly minor sound to it, or something that sets it apart. For awhile, this version was available from their site- I recommend checking for it, and purchasing Collective and Speakeasy if you haven't already done so.
