It's my favorite Glassjaw song for sure...it's really an interesting song. Here's my breakdown,
"To keep this body sober, I show my life for all to see."
To me it sounds like he's sayin being in public really can put you in check when it comes to attitude and how you present yourself. Dealing with Chron's disease has probably not made that any easier.
"Battle inside of my soul" is like the constant fight we go through in our own minds with what is right or what to do with ourlives.
"always better a fashion show than no show at all"
personally, being a guy who has a little trouble being completely single and alone...it's like i'd rather stay in a relationship i hate, almost as much as i'd hate spending time with fashion, then be alone...
"and when the runway rovers, grease back their manes for our own sake" i'm just throwin this out, cuz i doubt i'm right but it's like those who are supposed to be our closest friends sometimes seem to betray us, when in actuality it's one of those "harsh truths" ...for our own sake.
"do you see me?" always myself, this is me
and i think most of the rest is really just probably personal experiences of daryl's. the napalm the children part is expecially cool though. it reminds me of my school. i'd like to napalm some of those children.
