I love this song. His lyrics when he gets all philosophical like this are great. (See "Pig," too). Isn't it "If green should slip to grey/WOULD our hearts still bloody beat" though? Maybe I'm wrong, but that's what I've always heard, and it would make the verse parallel, since later on he asks "would it stop the stepping feet?"
