Everything you ever wanted to know about this song: The whole road crew was like a family by the time they finished touring for the second album "Open Up and Say... Ahh". Kimo, Poison's bodyguard, like all the other members of the crew had gotten heavy into drugs, alcohol, and women. Over the months that their third album, "Flesh & Blood" was being recorded, Kimo's health got consistantly worse. One day in late December of 1990, he died all alone in his Palm Springs hotel room. When Bret got the call on Christmas Eve, he went into hysterics. He locked himself in his room and didn't come out until this song was finished. It tells not only the life story of Kimo, but of Bret's cousin Bob who was wounded in Vietnam. The video for the song is equally as powerful. When Bret saw the image of Kimo on the screen, he lost his compsure and had to leave the set for several hours before coming back to finish his part. The video got 1st place in MTV's "World Series of Video" Peoples Choice Awards.
