Wow! I haven't listened to or thought of this song for some time and now I find just how much I can relate to it. I aswell "took my straightest shot and missed". Once I was drunk I told a girl I was in love with her though I myself had always thought we were just friends. In retrospect I still don't know if I really loved her or not, however the friendship fell apart. The best part of the song is "I'm not sorry that you didn't make time for me, but I'm emptying this bottle 'cause you killed the girl I thought you used to be" There's so much truth in it. Although I admit having acted like one great asshole it's very sad to see somebody you thought was a great person turn into someone unforgiving and mean who suddenly doesn't even have time to talk about it, but at the same time insists on not being egoistic. I really wished she could turn back into the person she was before I kicked off all this mess, but that's not how it works... So sad.
