wow. it seems back in the day the kids thought punk was dying too. i find the verse "with fifteen fights and your six bucks has gone up some promoters nose " really funny for some reason. And it's a good message they put out, no matter how sour you think the scene is getting, there's always these little moments or people that puts faith right back in there and glad that you found your refuge in the scene. It really is a beautiful thing now and then. Jesse sounds cynical about the scene, but at the same time still appreciates what it has done and what it was capable of doing to kids in the past. and even if you come and go, you'll remember the goodtimes and it wasn't ALL bad. it's true in a way. Punk rock seems to be less about outright rebellion for the sake of rebellion, but more as a clique where troubled kids who are rebelling because they are angry with life and how badly they've been treated (whether it be abuse, or not being believed in, or just being fussed over too much) would go to for some comfort. I think this song will be just as relevant ten or twenty years from now as it is today and 15 yrs back, because the scene will endure. you'll get the new punk bands who are doing this for the money and become bitches for corporations and trends, but there will always be those wanting to go back to the spirit of punk in '77 and the 80s looking for some positivity to share.
