i'm not too apt to that theory.
it's a story about living in an emotionally desensitizing society (i am numb/i'm so weak/i'm so tired..) with a bit of nostalgia. (my old friend) etc etc.
the chorus is a little too shout-along for my tastes, but it's beautiful nontheless.
