This is one of my fav songs on Gold, I can really relate to the lyrics of this song having just been through a similar situation with a girl. I think it's about how he let this girl get away from him, and now it's too late to get her back now that she has kids. He lost his love becuase he didn't tell her how he felt, but he still has the memories and still holds on to the idea of getting her back someday, somehow.
