Deer Dance is clearly about the WTO anti-globalization protests, ''Behind the Staple Centre u can see America...'' and the brutality shown by the police.
By the way, the ''peaceful loving youth'' are the protesters (mostly students), and the ''plastic existence'' is the commercial superficial shallow life we live in our capitalist societies.
I know no other explantion that fits the lyrics and the political standpoint of the band. Comments?
