this is one of my favourites off maladroit because it's a nod to the pinkerton-style of his writing, especially with the incredibly frank lyrics. it's definately a dig at the fans i think, because i mean just think of it from Rivers point of view. he writes pinkerton, which has the most personal songs he's ever written on it, and the fans don't buy it and the critics hate it. now, years later the fans are asking him to write more stuff like from pinkerton and i think this is his way of saying "fuck you". especially the 'if you hate this, i don't blame you" line, which is a sarcastic comment saying that people will hate the new album now, only to sing its praises in a few years time. anyways, that's what i think...
