Allister, the words may not be so profound to the point that you have to pick-apart the piece and go into some in-depth interpretation of the song, but the words are written simply and straight forward. Avril accomplishes her goal in letting others know her wishes to tell a guy that she likes/is falling in love with him, but that something is holding her back or that she is too shy. This song is one people can relate to (including myself), and I think the quality in how a song is sang can make up for all of the difference in a song not being the most original in words, and this song is a good example of Avril's talent in making a simple song sound great.
