Well, i never thought it was a song about suicide. Whenever i hear this song i think of someone sitting in a chair in the hospital saying this to someone they love who's dying. He can see that the person is fading, and he's glad , cuz he know that he/she will never be the same again. But at the same time he's remembering all the times that person was happy, before they got sick.
