I think that this song is about Ken (the lead singer) at the wedding a someone who he used to be in love with. I think that they are still friends, but he is sitting at her wedding reflecting on how her life is complete but his is still unfinnished i.e.-

This is a truly amazing and beautiful song about a guy who just wasn't ready for a life-time commitment, and his girlfriend left him to find someone who could give her what she really needed. The background vocal are amazing too...the song sounds great with the girl's voice sailing over the chorus.
