ok, check it: i took a History of Rock n Roll class and when we covered soul, my professor said that this was The Ultimate Cheating Song. and i think he's right. it's been covered by numerous soul singers, including aretha franklin and percy sledge, not to mention other bands, such as the eels.
just.. wow, the lyrics. "hiding in shadows where we don't belong.. to hide our wrong. it's a sin and we know that it's wrong, but our love keeps coming on strong." it's hard to stop, even when you know you're hurting someone else. i just think the lyrics are pretty prolific.
