Anyone realize that Dave Mustaine (megadeth) wrote most of the riffing in this song? We all know the story of how they kicked him out.....If ya like this, you should hear "mechanix" by megadeth.
ye he did, and he's credited for it, but the main riff ain't what makes The four horsemen great. It has kick-ass solos and lyrics which were later developed by the band. And anw, mechanix ain't even one of Megadeth's best songs.

Dave should have full credit. Only lyrics and a bridge (which sounds strikingly similar to a distorted Sweet Home Alabama riff) are to Metallica themeselves. However, Metallica's is much more reasonably paced and executed then "mechanix". Dave Mustaine was very pissed the day after he was fired, and decided to make a record that was "heavier, faster, and angrier than anything Metallica will do", which explained why he made the album so fast and almost un-musical.
