this entire record is just amazing. it blows me away everytime i hear it, each time i discover something new and inspiring.
okay heres my dredg experience. i opened my cd case and couldn't get it into the stereo fast enough. i quickly glanced at the case, saw there was no booklet, and forgot about it, as i was lost in a daze of musical bliss.
after listening to, no, experiencing leitmotif a few times, it soon became my favorite cd. It is just beautiful, but i know i better stop trying to tell you how i feel about something so truley stellar and indescribible. i will start babbling about how i get chills down my spine just listening, so we'll just leave it at that: indescribible. (i think thats spelled right...)
so, the lyrics are a bit hard to understand, but i'm already in love with the music.
THEN...as i'm looking at the case again...i find the booklet. reading that wonderful poetry shined (shone?) a whole new light on this masterpiece, i was again BLOWN AWAY. it pulls the entire record together, i found that what i thought was just a beautifully crafted music cd was actually a detailed epic about a man's journey to different civilizations and waht is learned along the way...not a thing is left out. On the plane ride you can actually hear the piano in the background, as the guide is helping you through the tunnels you can really hear his distant echo-ing voice singing a lonesome tune.
i think i've said enough and anyone who has stuck around long enough to read this whole thing must know what i'm talkin about. cheers.
