I think this song is abut how it's a troubled, either friendship or relationship, that isn't working. He talks about how there is still a hint of light even though they are getting closer and closer to "this black coffin" (the death of 'them'). Then he starts to say how it's the other person who is causing all this trouble, but no matter what, he would "be more than lost" without them. And that no matter what he will keep on wishing for things to get better, even though they don't seem to be. That's just me though. Great song, I am in love with it.
