To me this song is about a lost love or love not even yet found. both have merit. Lost love because he says you never really know what it is until it goes, but if it comes again its a mircale, which is like the old saying set it free if it comes back its urs. but i also think alot of this is him trying to find the one. maybe he had a taste of it ( what i explained above) and somehow she left, and now he wants that feeling back whether it be with her or someone new. We all need love and all he is asking for is someone to be happy with, the miracle is almost a little sarcastic to me at least hes like im not asking for a miracle here only someone to love, but at the same time it seems like it would take a miracle to find her.
