This song reminds me of the worse nightclub I ever visited. Looking around and laughing at those who looked as if they were enjoying their drinks/dancing but were just looking to fit in. These people are distraction in life, just like a rodeo clown.
Strongly agree. The "rodeo clowns" could also be a reference/metaphor for how people go around in circles all their life (emotionally - trying to cover up their feelings and whatnot) but a good amount still end up depressed or homeless or whatever. yeah
