i've got to say that i disagree with the SO2k1 reference; the whole 'monolith' thing isn't about the movie, its about heralding a shift in human existence, consciousness etc etc.
this expresses, i think, the same thing AEnima does, which is that the end of this world is coming, so to speak, and it will end all the bullshit, we hope. the mother here is earth, the rest should be pretty obvious, if you can receive it that is.
