Mordechai Vanunu is an Israeli nuclear technician who in 1986 exposed Israel's extensive nuclear weapons program to the press in England. Just prior to publication of his photographs and testimony, Israeli undercover agents kidnapped him and took him back to Israel. In a secret trial in 1988, the Israeli government convicted Vanunu of treason and espionage and sentenced him to 18 years in prison. He has served 15 years--the majority of it in solitary confinement. The song lyrics do a very good job of communicating Vanunu's story.
