to me this song is about either an ex b/f who is jealous of a new boyfriend or just two guys who are both falling in love with a girl. Its rather confusing but i love the chorus. I can see an ex boyfriend telling that to a new boyfriend that when she breaks down and makes a sound you;ll never hear her the way that i do, its like yea you might care for her, but i know every little thing about her and i can't let her go. Now i could be wrong but all i know is Howie Day is an amazing song writer and a great artist and this is one of my fave songs by him.
i agree with loveurlife although it is an odd situation for the girl. the girl, even though she is in this new relationship with this guy, she misses him. if anyone has watched "The Notebook" i rekon that this song follows the story of that movie.
