it could be from jesus' perspective in fact, which would be interesting, but i think the deal with a few APC songs (namely magdalena, orestes, and thomas) is that these songs are about mythical (i believe that the bible is mythology, sorry to those who disagree, i respect your opinions though) figures and how their dillemas or other's dillemas affect us today. without knowing who mary magdalene, thomas, or orestes was, these songs REALLY pretain to our own lives. APC are geniuses.
this song contains a TON of musical metaphors and symbolism. the "come into my misery" is SOO haunting and captivating, and just the crypticality (word?) of the music is similar to the cripticality of the music. obviously there are words said in the background of the song, during "come into my misery". id love to find out what they are.
