I'm still thinking about this song, because there is Aurora, CO. (And probably other places named Aurora too.) There's also an Oldsmobile Aurora. It's funny because I was listening to this song quite a while ago, trying to think about what Aurora meant. I was driving my car, and I looked up and right in front of me a car said "aurora" on the back and it just hit me. So, I'm not sure if they're talking about a town or possibly a car. Like maybe a car crash... you took my only friend.. you won't catch me behind the wheel of a chrysler ever again...

From what I've read, a childhood friend of Matt Skiba moved from McHenry to Aurora and this upset Matt in a way. I actually lived in Aurora for a while in the 1990s, and we left about three years before this song was released.
