In my opinion, the song is about a love-hate relationship. It seems like we're told this story by a very sensitive boy. Boy because the line "I want to know my body" suggests that he still has much to find about in life. Sensitive because he lets a girl beat him and he feels these "distortions". Plus everything he seems to be able to is write a song about his situation and tell us about his worries. It doesn't sound like he's strong enough to change anything. He is kind of obsessed by this girl he's "talking to", he loves it, when she blinks her eyes for example and calls her baby. Maybe they are even engaged. Well, this relationship seems to be distorted, because her sister beats him and he pictures her in coffins. She seems to have so much power over him that all he can do is sing this song. Sure, he's talking about leaving her, but in the same song he praises her eyes and when I hear it it makes me think of a drug addict trying to get off his drug. We don't know how often he has already sung this tune.
These distortions he's telling us of are probably strange feelings inside him, feelings that "distort" his love towards the person, he isn't happy at all with this girl, she seems to torture the feelings of this very weak guy so much, that all he can feel now are these strange distortions - he loves her but she hurts him bad and to get rid of these distortions he has to leave.
